Family Life

Overview

Ron’s family house was a place that was always in motion: cameras were always on many horizontal surfaces, loaded and ready to go. Ron used any camera that was close at hand, from ½ frame 35mm to 8x10, and occasionally a vintage 11x14 inch large format camera, permanently set on a wheeled stand.

When Ron came back from a commercial job, he would ‘run out the roll’ on whatever – and whomever – was in the house, so that he could develop the film that night. He worked in natural light, capturing candid moments, except for the few times that he would say “hold it” to catch a moment.
